Full Description Etna Trekking Tour

If you book Etna trekking you will comfortably reach the starting point of the excursion aboard a free transfer, in fact we will pick you up at your accommodation.

The environmental guide will already begin on the way to explain the history, curiosities and what makes Etna an unique volcano.

Once we reach an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level we will have a briefing that will allow us to adjust to the new altitude and then set off on a trek among the lava rocks of old and new lava flows that have shaped the landscape between eruptions.

The uniqueness of Mount Etna lies precisely in its being a living creature, puffing, erupting and running its incandescent matter down its flanks, changing the morphology of the landscape each time.

The medium-intensity trek will take us to marvelous glimpses of the volcano until we reach the overlook of the amazing Bove Valley, a valley that hosts many overlapping lava flows.

Immersed in an enchanting silence, we will be able to enjoy a packed lunch surrounded by the beauty of nature, respecting the magnificent landscape that welcomes us.

The panorama will be truly remarkable, the slopes of Etna are in fact characterized by unspoiled valleys, a mixture of lava flows, old eruptive apparatuses and endemic vegetation (pines, oaks, birches, holm oaks, chestnut trees) that color its flanks in different seasons.

Walking through unique and fascinating paths we will arrive at the last stage of the excursion, we will enter the belly of the volcano through a lava flow cave, equipped with helmets and flashlights that we will equip you with: a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

The return to Catania by our vehicles will allow you to relax while continuing to enjoy the images that our volcano gives and that will remain forever among the most beautiful travel memories!

Tour schedule

The Etna Trekking excursion begins at 9 a.m., which is when the free transfer will come to the facility to pick you up to begin this adventure that ends at 5 p.m.

The exact pick up time will be provided by our office the evening before the excursion.

This excursion will be for sure one of the most remarkable days of trip to Sicily, because of the uniqueness of the landscapes and the incredible atmosphere that only our volcano can give!

Additional Info

The Etna trekking excursion requires a minimum number of 6 participants and is also suitable for children 10 years and older (if used to walking in nature), who are entitled to a €10 discount.
